B.B. King, Sting, Tom Jones y Josep Carreras, en el XII Festival Jardins de Cap Roig – España

Barcelona (EUROPA PRESS). – El octogenario B.B. King, el líder de The Police, Sting, el incombustible Tom Jones y el tenor catalán Josep Carreras son algunos de los artistas que actuarán en el XII Festival Jardins de Cap Roig, que se celebrará en Palafrugell y Mont-Ras (Girona) del 15 de julio al 21 de agosto.

El director del certamen, Martín Pérez Lombarte, ha presentado este miércoles en Barcelona la programación, que arrancará con el concierto de la banda norteamericana Chicago, en la que será su segunda actuación en España –la primera fue en 1978–.

Sting presentará el proyecto Symphonicity, en un concierto en el que reinterpretará sus grandes éxitos con The Police acompañado de la Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, aunque uno de los platos fuertes será la actuación de B.B. King.

“Hace tantos años que intento que venga B.B. King que conseguir que esté con nosotros es una enorme satisfacción”, ha dicho Pérez, que ha recordado que ésta sea posiblemente su última gira, ya que el guitarrista tiene ya 83 años.

El tenor Josep Carreras, que actuó en Cap Roig en sus siete primeras ediciones –Pérez lo utilizaba como reclamo para convencer a otros aristas cuando el festival no era tan conocido–, cantará “un programa muy exigente” acompañado de la Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, y Julio Iglesias, otro habitual, dará dos conciertos en los que repasará sus grandes éxitos.

Una de las propuestas más originales, ha destacado el director, es el concierto que ofrecerá Ana Belén junto a la pianista Rosa Torres-Pardo, ya que no será un recital al uso; música de Mozart y Chopin se combinará con versos de Rafael Alberti o Luis Cernuda, ya que Ana Belén, además de cantar, recitará.

La Caixa patrocina el festival –recoge el testigo de Caixa Girona– y una de las condiciones que puso para seguir apoyándolo fue, además de mantener el prestigio y el carácter ecléctico, que se programara a más artistas catalanes.

Así, actuarán en Cap Roig dos de los grupos que más éxito están teniendo cantando en catalán, Manel y Antònia Font, que presentarán sus nuevos trabajos, ’10 milles per veure una bona armadura’ y ‘Lamparetes’, respectivamente.

Otra artista catalana –y nacida en Palafrugell– será Sílvia Pérez Cruz, que ya actuó en la pasada edición del Festival del Mil·leni, igual que el Dúo Dinámico, “los precursores del pop en España”, que también estarán, y compartirán cartel con las nuevas generaciones, representadas por Dani Martín, el vocalista de El Canto del Loco.

La embajadora de la danza en el certamen será la primera bailarina del Royal Ballet, Tamara Rojo, que volverá a Cap Roig por tercera vez después que en las anteriores ocasiones tuviera que suspender sus actuaciones al lesionarse en los ensayos. “A la tercera va la vencida”, ha confiado Pérez, que le ha reservado dos noches.

Otra “deuda” es la que se salda al programar a Roger Hodgson, ex Supertramp, que el año pasado tuvo que cancelar su concierto por la lluvia, y una satisfacción personal es, para el director del festival, que este año actúe Miguel Ríos en su interminable gira de despedida de los escenarios.

También estará en Cap Roig otro veterano, “el artista de los artistas”, Raphael, que cantará tangos, boleros y rancheras, y Carlos Núñez, que junto a la Orquesta Nacional de Cámara de Andorra (Onca) realizará un extenso recorrido por la historia de la música.

La Fura dels Baus actuará por primera vez en los jardines de Cap Roig, y se estrenará con ‘Carmina Burana’, una monumental puesta en escena con más de 200 personas sobre el escenario, entre ellas los integrantes del Cor Jove del Orfeó Català y del Orfeón Pamplonés.

Tom Jones pondrá el broche de oro al festival con dos conciertos los días 20 y 21 de agosto en los que presentará su nuevo disco, Praise & Blame.

El festival cuenta con un presupuesto de 3.472.000 euros, y mantiene su colaboración con el Celler de Can Roca, que servirá comidas antes y después de los conciertos; las entradas oscilan, en función del artista y la localidad, entre los 20 y los 240 euros.
