El montaje- ganador de un Fondart Bicentenario-, parte con Zimmerman interpretando a un actor de 55 años que, cansado que se rían de él, decide matar a su personaje “Tony Maletín” en plena función, iniciando un recorrido por lo que ha sido su historia personal.

“El Payaso y su Doble” sigue la misma estética clown de sus antecesoras tales como “Las siete vidas del Tony Caluga”, montaje ganador de un APES y catalogada como la mejor obra del año 1994.
