Pearl Jam lanzó su nueva canción en el show de Jimmy Fallon

Septiembre podría ser rebautizado como SEPT-VEDDER ya que su banda, Pearl Jam, está celebrando 20 años de carrera y lo están haciendo en grande. Al documental “PJ20”, que se estrena en Estados Unidos el 20 de manera comercial, se agrega un libro biográfico, un festival que se llevó a cabo por tres días y el estreno de una canción que pusieron de manera gratuíta para descarga y que interpretaron en el show de Jimmy Fallon.

El mes de septiembre de 2011 será recordado como el mes de Pearl Jam. El quinteto grunge no sólo se encuentra preparando y mostrando el show que será parte de la gira que los llevará por el mundo para celebrar sus 20 años de carrera, sino que además están haciendo actividades de diversa índole con el fin de tirar las guitarras por la ventana.

Se efectuó en Wisconsin “Pearl Jam 20”, un festival de tres días con un montón de bandas -entre las que destacan Mudhoney, Queens of the Stone Age, The Strokes y una reunión de Temple of the Dog- y que contó con dos conciertos del grupo de Seattle de larga duración y con setlists a prueba de fanáticos. El evento fue considerado uno de los más memorables del año, dejando a los fans del mundo ansiosos sobre todo por lo que vendrán a mostrar a Sudamérica.

En el pre-estreno, del Festival de Cine de Toronto, el documental que dirigió Cameron Crowe (director de “Singles”, “Almost Famous” y “Vanilla Sky”) “Pearl Jam Twenty” con material histórico de la banda y apariciones de Kurt Cobain, Neil Young, David Lynch, Chris Cornell y Lane Staley, entre otros. El film ha generado mucha expectativa y ha emocionado a los fans con el trailer que muestra a la escena del grunge en todo su apogeo y con el quinteto como una parte viva de la historia del estilo musical alternativo.

Pearl Jam lanzó su nueva canción de manera online y gratuíta para todos sus adeptos, se trata de “Olé”, que fue estrenada en vivo en el show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. En una aplaudida aparición la banda se mostró alegre y distendida -incluso Eddie Vedder se prestó para cantar una canción cómica junto al animador- que sólo calienta más el ambiente para el concierto que vendrán a dar a Chile el próximo 16 de noviembre en el Estadio Monumental en la segunda visita del grupo a nuestro país. ¿Están emocionados? nosotros sí.
